Comments

  1. The main character is a young girl who was 14 when she was murdered after she was raped. The plot is a very serious topic for many as right away in the novel Susie is raped and she tells her story. This can connect to many young adult as we live in a world today that this can happen. Susie then tells her story in heaven watching down on her family try and figure out her murder and where her body is. This conflict is knowing who is doing it, you as a reader and Susie know who the murder is but it gets frustrating when the family and friends cannot figure it. I think I will remember the first 15 pages of this book the most because it started immediately and made me want to keep reading.

  2. The characters in the Lovely Bones make the book young adult. The main character is a teenager, and we got to see what was going on in her school after she died. It explores people's relationships and how people came together after Susie's death. Highschool and relationships are common throughout many young adult books. The thing that intrigued me about this book was how she could view the lives of her family, friends, and the man who murdered her even after her death. I also liked how the person who murdered Susie was revealed almost immediately in the story. The part I will remember most about this book is the viewpoint of being able to see everything that is going on but not being able to do anything about it.

  3. The characters in the book that make it young adult is that the main character is only 14 when she is raped and murder. Also the perspectives only really come from the young people in the story we get to see the perspectives of Susie, Ray, Ruth, and Lindsay. The plot of the book is being up in heaven with Susie and getting to watch the people down on earth try to figure out her murder. The main conflict in the story in is that Susie is raped and killed and they can't seem to figure out who is. The conflict is very young adult because they are very detailed when talking about how Susie was killed and raped. The most memorable parts of the story was the first half of the book. I felt it was the most interesting part of the book and the author didn't create and suspense they just jumped straight into the story.

  4. The characters in the book The Lovely Bones is what makes this book a young adult literature book for young adults. The main and important character in the book is a 14 year old girl Susie Salmon who was raped by an older man and then murdered the same night. When reading the book I got to see what was happening on in her school after she was murdered. The plot in the book is a serious topic that no one in the world wants to talk about but it's happening the world today and it connects to a lot of young and older girls in the world that we live in. Susie tells her story in heaven to other girls that also got attacked by the same guy and while in heaven she is watching her friends and family who are struggling to try to figure out who murdered Susie and where to her body is located. The conflict in the book is as the reader you know who murdered Susie and where her body is located. To me it got extremely frustrating when her family and friends couldn't figure out who murdered her, which he lived three streets down from their house or right in front of them which was half the time. What I will remember about this book is the first page of the book because it started immediately about how Susie Salmon got murdered and who murdered her. This book made me want to keep reading and I was not able to put the book down because it got me hooked.
