Do you believe in 100 years, this novel will be considered a "classic"?  Will it stand the test of time and be something that students will be reading in an English class of the future?  Why or why not?

  1. I think this could go many ways for Storm Front, I believe in some ways it could be a classic in 100 years but also I have some thoughts as to why it wouldn't be. If Storm Front were to become a classic in 100 years I think it would be becuase of the cultural impact this book has in the fantasy genre. Meaning this book has been well liked by many people and can be proven with all the books written after Storm Front to continue the series. As it may become a classic, I do not think this book would be read in English class due to the role and perception the women are given in this novel. On the other hand, a reason why it may not become a classic may be if the fantasy genre becomes less popular. To illustrate, being this novel is focused on a urban fantasy novel, it may appeal to less people over the years and just lose its popularity. Overall depending on the person and there love for fantasy book, I think Storm Front may or may not become a classic in 100 years.

  2. I think this book won't be considered a classic in 100 years. Storm Front I don't think could become a classic because most classics I feel they have a solid message on what they are trying to get at. Also most books that are a series would be hard to be considered a classic which storm front was the beginning of a book series so I think that it would have difficulties becoming a classic. Storm Front could possibly stand the test of time since it is a rather unique book since it ties fantasy and mystery together. It will not be read in English classrooms however, since some of the views on women are not good for teenagers to explore and some of the things mentioned in this book I don't think are appropriate for a English class book. I think that likely this book will still be read by some in a 100 years but I most definitely will not be read in English classes and I don't really think it has the potential to become a classic.

  3. i don't think this book will be a classic because its a book that does not hold any components that book that we consider classics now. also the book just didn't stand out to me like some classics have stood out to me but when reading this book nothing really stood out to me. no i don't think that the storm front will be a book that people read in school unless it their own read because storm front really didn't have any important and was very inspiring.

  4. I do not think that Storm Front will become a classic for many reasons. The main reason is because of the way women are portrayed in the book. They are just used for their bodies and nothing else, they make it seem like that is normal too. Which, in classics there are usually really valuable life lessons inside or a topic that needs to be spread awareness about to make it a classic. But, this story is mostly just used for entertainment and not like a learning lesson. I don't think that it will be read in future English classes just because some parts of it you do have to be mature for and it can be very gory and graphic. This novel was a pretty good story overall I just don't think it has the certain characteristics to be come a classic in the future.

  5. I do not think that Storm Front will become a classic in 100 years. I am sorry but if my teacher gave me a book about wizards to read, I would be so disappointed, lol. I also do not think it will become a classic because the book really does not have a big inspiring message that most classics have. In the book women are used for their body and that is it and in a school setting that is not something students should be taught. So no, I do not think this book will become a classic in 100 years.

  6. I do not believe in 100 years Storm Front will become a classic. This book cannot be compared to an actual classic novels like To Kill a Mockingbird because they are not even close to each other. Do I think this book was great to read and expand my reading? Yes, but I think that if I was not in this class I would never pick up this book. I am glad I got to read this book, but I just don’t think this is a well-known book to become a classic.

  7. I don’t think that the book Storm Front will be considered a classic in 100 years. I don’t think it will be a classic because the book doesn’t hold a message like typical classic novels. I also think the genre is not the usual classic novel genre. The book also portrays women as objects rather than human beings and that is not an example that students should be reading as a classic and some of the topics are not appropriate for a classroom setting. This was an interesting novel just not one that would be a classic

  8. I think that Storm Front will not be considered a classic in 100 years because I don’t think that it could become a classic because most books that are classics have meaningful messages on what they are trying to get across. Most books that are in a series would be hard to consider a classic which storm front is at the beginning of a book series so I think that it would be difficult for the series and the book itself to even be considered a classic in 100 years. I think that Storm Front could possibly stand the test of time since it’s a unique book that is a fantasy book that is about magic, wizards, and mystery that is all connected in the book. It will not be read in English classrooms because on how the author shows how the women in the book are viewed, which is not good for teenagers to read and to explore and there are some things in the book that are mentioned in the book are not classroom appropriate or school appropriate for teenagers to read in English class. I don’t think that Storm Front will be read in a English class only by someone who wants to read it, and the book also has no real meaning to it by there is not true meaning or message that the book is trying to get across. This book was about how women were used for love and that is all that they were used for and kids in a classroom setting do not need to read it, which is not example of a classic novel and its inappropriate for teenagers to read. So, no I don’t think that this book will be considered a classic in 100 years.
