I think the characters defiantly make it a young adult book because the character are defiantly mature and adult characters that maybe more mature readers should read about. the plot defiantly makes it a young adult book but this this book could even be consider an adult read to because its story line and plot and pretty much the whole books its self is defiantly a book for a mature audience and there are some people who fall in the category of a young adult reader that might even be consider not mature enough for this book. i think the thing the most intrigued me about this book was defiantly trying to figure out who kill Gaberial and why Alicia went silent. the author did a great job of keeping my attention and the book defiantly did not have a to boring spot in the book though it did get a little to descripted sometimes when there did need to be to much description. A the thing from this book that i will remember is the ending because i was really shocked on how it ended because id defiantly did not see the ending coming so the ending defiantly had a good twist to it and it definably will be something i remember because I've only reread a couple of books that have ending that are this kind of twisted and i remember how each of those ended so this is one i will defiantly remember. altogether i thought this book was great it was set up nicely especially on how it ended and i really don't think there was anything wrong with the book besides how descripted it could get at times but besides that it was defiantly an amazing read.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to add a little bit more to the blog than I did. When I mentioned the Freudian references, I was talking about the constant sexual relations that took place throughout the book. such as the beginning of the book with Theo and Kathy or toward the end when Kathy was cheating on Theo. Second, the foreshadowing was absolutely phenomenal. In the beginning of the book, everything being said was quite sporadic, but as the book went on, things started to fall more and more together until the very end, and it punches you in the face. I think the best books are the ones that make you hate the characters and that is most definitely true in this book. at the end, I had to think hard about who in this book wasn't just a total piece of trash. over all I think that this is a very good book highly recommend beside some of the sexual content
ReplyDeleteThe characters and the conflict and theme are what most makes this book a young adult book. The characters are a good example since even though they are adults they feel and experience complicated situations and relationships that are good for someone who is a mature reader to read about. The conflict totally makes sense because most people my age really love who done it mystery books I know I do so it makes it a great example of what young adult books are. the theme was pretty dark but was filled with topics that are resonant with people today including people my age, like the struggles of mental health, struggles of relationships, not knowing who is really good and who's bad. These are some things that many people can relate with. What intrigued me most about this book was what was the actual truth. I wanted to know why Alicia was silent and what happened on the night that Gabriel died. It sucked me in to the book where I was beginning to wonder who was actually telling the truth and who where just liars. Also it intrigued me that at the end no one in the book seemed like they where actually innocent or even a good person it was a fresh new take in writing and I really enjoyed it. I think I will remember the ending of this book the most since it was the part where you actually found out what happened and it was extremely shocking and haunting. The ending was so unexpected and incredible and unlike most things I have read so I will definitely remember it.
ReplyDeleteThe story elements in this book that make it young adult are the characters. The struggles they go through with things like mental health and childhood trauma are examples of what many young adults face today. Through their actions, we can see how the character's childhood trauma shaped their personalities and affected their daily lives. The thing that intrigued me most in this book was the writing style. Seeing Alcia’s diary entries was an interesting perspective after reading Theo’s parts. Also, the way the end was written was so well thought out because it made who did it more shocking. The thing I will most remember about this book is the ending. Throughout the book, the author tries to lead you in all kinds of directions. The ending felt unexpected and had me thinking about it even after I finished the book. The timing between Alicia and Theo's story helped with the element of surprise.
ReplyDeleteIn the book the Silent Patient, the characters made the book a young adult literature book. The struggles and the challenges that the characters go through especially like mental health, childhood trauma, and being cheated on are all examples of what many teenagers go through, young children go through and even married couples go through today. Through the characters actions, I can see how some of the characters experiences childhood trauma and how it shaped their personality and how it's affecting their daily life when they got older and could not let the trauma go. The thing that got my attention the most about this book was the way that the author wrote the book. Seeing Alicia's point of view on what happened that night and also seeing her dairy entries was the interesting part of the book especially after reading Theo's perspective. The way the author wrote the end of the book was well thought of and unexpected because it lead to me being surprised on who the person was that killed Gabriel. The one thing that I will remember most about this book is the ending. Throughout the entire book, the author makes you think that everyone in Alicia and Theo's life are the people that killed Gabriel and the book leads you in all kinds of different directions. The ending of the book was a little expected and it had me thinking during the last 2 chapters of the book. Between Alicia and Theo's story helped with the element of surprise between how both of their lives overlapped with each other.
ReplyDeleteIn the book, The Fury, the depth of each of the characters personality made it a young adult book. Each of the characters were really well explained through out the book and even in the ending when Elliot the main character was describing why he killed Laura was he still going back to his childhood and why he did what he did. The plot of the book was also really well written and kept me hooked on the book the whole time. I didn't know what was going to happen until the last page. What intrigued me most about this book was how it was written. It was in Elliot's perspective and he would write what he remembered about that night, but little did he know that he was also getting tricked and me as a reader was only getting one version of the story. This author is really good and knows how to keep a reader entertained.
ReplyDeleteIn the fury the characters made it most young adult. Each of the characters had different things they are involved in and they are in the young adult age range. They are also explained very well which helps understand them more. The plot of the book is also young adult the whole story is based on Elliot trying to win Lana's love with a fake murder and it ends up backfiring on him. It also deals with love, drama, and friendship break ups. This occurs in many young adults lives so this can also be connected to this. The whole book intrigued me, :) but the last part was the best. But the entire book was very very good. I will remember all the twist and especially what happens at the end.
ReplyDeleteIn the book The Fury the elements in the book that make it young adult was the in-depth detail of the characters childhood. I really like how the author went in depth on their childhoods because I felt that it helped understand why the characters did things. What intrigued me the most about the book was that I never knew what was going to come next. The authors set up the book so that you think that you know what's going to happen but then it switches like 20 different times and just leaves you with your jaw dropped and never expecting what is going to come next. I also really like how the author would end the chapters and how each act gave you insight into different characters.
