What story elements (character, plot, mood, conflict, theme, etc.) are present in this book to make it "young adult"? What intrigued you the most about this book? What will you remember most about this book?
I think that this is a good example of a contemporary young adult novel since it is completely different to most things I have read, with shocking twists and turns and a exiting ending that I haven't really seen in any other books. It is good since it is relevant to the times, explores unique themes, unlike other books and is written pretty well. It represents contemporary literature by showing things that are present in todays society: for example it shows a lot about the struggle of mental health and how it can affect a person and how people cope with it. It also has a very unique take on how people act in todays world. this book is a good representation of contemporary literature today.
ReplyDeleteI think that this book is a very good form of contemporary young adult lit for a few reasons. the first is it's a modern book that really holds the same views that we have right now as a society. I really think for this reason you can definitely call it contemporary. the second reason is the constant change of scene and problem. this definitely helps because with people's attention spans quickly depleting, for a book to be able to capture someone's attention and intrigue them in this day and age is very impressive. this is good when talking about young adult books or books meant for the bottom three generations as a whole. I also think the drama aspect of this book is very positive aspect when talking about books that young adults like to read. overall I think that this book fits very nicely in the category of contemporary young adult lit. I think this book represents contemporary young adult lit today with not only all the romance scenes and communication but also all the physical relations that take place in the book. I think this book shows a growth in maturity in young adult books over the resent years.

Alicia was a very complex character, and it showed how hard it can be to understand why people act the way they do. The book being set in a modern world helps the reader relate the book to current issues. It represents contemporary literature of today by going deeply into the emotions of the main character, which is common in many contemporary books. Throughout the novel, we learn a lot about Theo's childhood and how it has made him into the person he is today. Theo even expresses that the main reason he became a psychotherapist was to figure himself out.

Alicia was a very difficult and complex character, and it showed how hard it is to read and understand people on the way they act. The book's setting being in the modern world helps the reader connect and relate to the book and the current issues happening in the book. The book represents contemporary literature in todays world by going deeply into the main characters emotions and how they are struggling, which is very common in a lot of contemporary books. Throughout the novel, we the readers learn more about Theo's childhood and what he experiences and how it made him become the adult he is today. During the book Theo even tells people the truth to why he became a psychotherapist and the reason was to help himself figure himself out and his life.
ReplyDeleteThis represents a good contemporary young adult book because of the well thought out plots and character's. Young adult book needs to be fast paced and very interesting or I would get bored of the book and The Fury is not boring at all. Throughout the novel the main character Elliot grows as a person which helps the reader connect with the characters more. This is a good book of literature today because it shows how people can change and how you grows up impacts who you are as a person. The Fury had a lot of good messages and meanings along with a good plot and I think everyone should read this book .
ReplyDeleteThe fury represents a good contemporary young adult book because everything that the characters go through in this story is very likely to happen to other young adults, expect the murder component. The book involves drama, love, and friendship breakups. All things that young adults go through. This book was just an amazing read that I will tell so many people to read because that is how much I loved it. It also shows how people can grow and change as a person when growing up and that is a good lesson for people to know because people to mature and grow up. Over all this book was very good.
ReplyDeleteThe Fury is a good example of contemporary young adult literature. The mystery and twists int he book are sure to keep the reader engaged threw out the whole book. I mean within act 1 you already know who is murdered. The Fury is also a good example because i the plot and how it was voiced is a rare thing. You don't see many murder mystery threw an outside perspective. It is also young adult because of the drama. The Fury is full of drama, friendship breakups, affairs, love which are all real life topics that lots of people could relate too. Overall The Fury was a vey good read but I didn't expect anything else after reading the Silent Patient.
