Magnolia Parks Blog 3
What components does your book have to make it a page-turner? Or was this book a little slow to get started? Was there a point where you just couldn't put it down? Or did you struggle getting through it? Please provide examples.
At the beginning this book really was not very interesting for me because I was just upset with Parks for letting BJ treat her this way. But around the middle of the book other things started happening and I enjoyed it way more. It also was a little difficult to understand what was happening and who the characters where right away but after awhile you got the hang off what was happening and how Jesse Hasting writes. The last 100 pages I thought where very good page turners but i started to really enjoy the book 200 pages in. I also really enjoyed the ended and I did noy expect that ending of her finding out about Pali right after they figured out everything about their relationship and was going to move forward.
ReplyDeleteMagnolia Parks was a page turner at the end, but in the beginning, there were so many characters, and it was a bit hard to get into. I thought that this book didn't have to be so long, and I still could have gotten the overall plot of the story. The most difficult thing for me was to remember all the people at the beginning. I thought I needed to remember more characters than I did and that confused me until I realized that a lot of the characters were only in there for a chapter. Once I realized that I only needed to remember the main characters it started to become easier to read and it got more interesting. I think this book could have been a bit clearer at the beginning, but the end was very good, and I couldn’t put the book down.
ReplyDeleteI felt that certain parts of Magnolia Parks were a page turner. In the beginning I had a hard time understanding what was going on or who she was talking about because there are so many characters introduced in the beginning. But once you understood who was who it was an easy read. I did feel that the book was a little repetitive at points. BJ and Magnolia would be good and she was trying to forgive him then he would hookup with another random girl and they would fight and then she would get over it. I also really liked that it was from two perspectives and not just one. I thought the last 100ish pages were the best and i did not expect the ending.
ReplyDeleteThis book was a little slow to get started, but once I understood the characters it became easier to read. Towards the end it became a page turner because I wanted to know who Magnolia would end up with. The fact that BJ and Magnolia were both complicated characters made the book more interesting. One thing that made the book harder to read in the middle was that it was annoying how easy it was for Magnolia to forgive BJ. Magnolia and BJ would fight and then end up hanging out and talking after a few days. Even when Magnolia found out BJ was using again after he swore he wouldn't, Magnolia still took him back. Overall, this book was a page-turner at the end, but slow to get started.
ReplyDeleteFor me Magnolia Parks was definitely not a page-turner for me because in the beginning Magnolia let BJ drag her along in their relationship until she dropped his butt. My opinion Magnolia Parks was the same drama about the same thing in every chapter of Magnolia and BJ having a fight, BJ kissing another girl, Magnolia seeing, running away, and then two days later she runs back to BJ asking him back or who he slept with when they were together and they repeat it again and again until the end of the book when Magnolia finally drops him but I think in the second book she will go crawling back to BJ. This book was hard for me to finish and read because it was the same thing over and over again and I got sick of it. This book defiantly for me was not a page-turner because I lost interest in the book by the 5th chapter and it was starting to get very repetitive and boring. Overall this book was a page-tuner at the end, but it was extremely hard for me to read because it was so boring and all about a rich dad’s girl that can’t get over her ex and thinking that he is only for her and her only. This book showed me how relationships in the real world are kind of like because the guy tells the girl that he won’t use again but can’t get over her kissing her boyfriend, starts using and then make love with another girl and the girl finds out and wants forgiveness even when they don’t deserve it.
